On Sunday, she only has one option left, whereas on Monday, she can choose from any of the seven desserts. As the week progresses, her choices become more restricted due to the number of options available.

In this scenario, the roommate's dessert choice is free to vary on six days (Monday to Saturday) but not on Sunday. This is similar to how we use statistical analysis in real-life situations, where we often impose restrictions on the data to make predictions or estimate parameters.
